One of the benefits of living in California is the abundance of fresh fruit. Sometimes a colorful fruit salad is all that I want on a warm summer day, and today was no exception. There really isn't a recipe for this salad, it's based on what is in season. I love to mix whatever fresh fruit I can find, peaches, red plums, mango, papaya, pineapple, kiwi, cherries, as well as all sorts of berries. But I get especially excited when I start to see passion fruit at the farmers markets. I have made desserts and cookies as well as ice cream with passion fruit, all very delicious. But sometimes simply spooning those tart lovely seeds over some freshly cut fruit can fit the bill just fine.
Peel, seed, and trim the fruit as necessary and cut into manageable pieces, that are neither too big or too small. Squeeze fresh orange juice over the salad and then spoon over the contents of a passion fruit. -s
